The Community Governance Leadership Summit 2026, hosted by United Care Trust, was held on Saturday, 18 July 2026, at The Dowse Art Museum, Lower Hutt.
Building on the success of the 2023 Community Governance Conference, the Summit brought together approximately 60 CEOs, directors, board members and senior community leaders from ethnic, community and not-for-profit organisations across the Wellington region.
The Summit provided a valuable platform for community leaders to share experiences, discuss governance challenges and explore practical approaches to strengthening governance capability and organisational sustainability.
The afternoon featured three facilitated panel discussions:
Governance Support and Training
Exploring practical approaches to strengthening governance capability across community and not-for-profit organisations.
Community Board Chairs Panel
Community board chairs shared experiences, challenges and lessons learned from leading community-led and volunteer-based organisations.
System-Level Perspectives
Exploring broader perspectives, priorities and future opportunities for strengthening community governance.
The Summit created an opportunity for community leaders to connect, share knowledge and learn from one another, with a shared focus on building stronger and more sustainable community organisations across Aotearoa New Zealand.
United Care Trust thanks all speakers, panellists, community leaders and attendees for contributing to the success of the Community Governance Leadership Summit 2026.
