All Muslims who live in New Zealand are eligible for membership. A principal member must fulfil the following criteria:
Membership registration includes filling out a membership application form with direct debit authority and providing one-time registration fee. Initial, one time, non-refundable and non-transferable membership fee is due at sign up. If a member is blessed with another child, he/she must update their application within three months and pay the registration fee as per the registration fee structure.
Membership fee structure is based one-off lifetime membership fee (non-refundable) as follows:
Principal Member $100
Spouse $25
Each dependent under 22 years $25
Dependent over 22 years or a married dependent must fill out separate application as principal member.
Annual Administration fee (second year onwards) $25 per principal member
You are required to submit the following documents:
1. Membership application form
2. Photo identification of member and each dependent applying for membership
3. Membership fee or proof of bank transfer
4. Direct debit authority form
Yes, a member must make the following two payments:
Yes, there is a waiting period of 90 days after the membership application is approved.
If a principal member or dependent passes away before the completion of the waiting period, UCT will not provide any funeral support.
Yes, a member or eligible dependent will continue receiving funeral support benefit as long as he/she is living within New Zealand.
Membership would stand cancelled if a member or eligible dependent started living outside New Zealand. Member should inform UCT in writing if he/she is travelling outside New Zealand.
If a member or eligible dependent, requiring payment outside New Zealand, the UCT will not pay any amount in that case (however, a request can be reviewed by the UCT).
A member must be in a good standing with all membership dues for him/her to qualify for a claim payment.
Should a member miss a payment, he/she will be issued a warning will be issued a warning and UCT reserves the right to terminate the membership if a payment is not received within 30 (Thirty) days, including any bank charges.
Member is responsible for direct debit dishonour charges and/or if banking information is not updated timely.
UCT will transfer the payment into the bank account of member or eligible dependent. If the payment must be made in the name of a funeral service provider, the member or eligible dependent should inform us. The payments will be made to funeral services in New Zealand so long as the membership always remains in good standing.
Note: Funeral support payment will not exceed $8000.
In case of a principal member's death dependents' benefits will remain active in the same way as it were when the member was alive.
No, parents cannot be added in principal applicant form. If they meet membership eligibility requirement, they must submit separate application form.
Membership will be revoked.
Yes, the only principal member can cancel his/her membership as and when they want without any obligation.
